The crisis began when Mike asked whether he was observing the sky or whether the sky had been containing him the entire time.
Mike Enters Complete Existential Crisis After Realizing He Is Inside Sky
Mike paused his report after realizing the aircraft, the window, and Mike himself may all be located inside the subject.

Mike suspended active sky reporting Friday after realizing that the aircraft was not merely near the sky, but inside it, creating what the Sky Reports desk described as "a complete existential crisis with acceptable visibility."
The crisis began during a routine left-window check, when Mike noted that the sky extended beyond the frame, around the wing strut, under the aircraft, above the aircraft, and through the airspace occupied by Mike's own professional body.
"I was reporting on the sky," Mike said after several minutes of cockpit silence. "Then I realized I may have been filing from within it."
Observer Status
Editors said the report remains valid, but acknowledged that Mike's relationship to the subject is harder to draw on a desk chart. A sky correspondent inside the sky, they said, is still a correspondent, though possibly also evidence.
"The problem is not that the sky is far away," Mike said. "The problem is that it is also where I am."

Reporter Present, but no longer sure he is outside the story.
Ground Too far below to answer the question.
The desk briefly considered reclassifying the piece as first-person atmosphere coverage, but Mike said that would imply a level of personal clarity he does not currently possess.
Containment Archive
The full recording of Mike realizing his location was exported for review. Editors said the file is mostly sky, with a short section in which Mike asks whether a window can separate a person from the thing on both sides of it.

Mike later clarified that the plane continued flying normally throughout the crisis, though he said the yoke "felt like part of the question."
Evidence Gallery
The following frames were selected from the containment review. Each image shows sky outside the aircraft while leaving unresolved whether the aircraft is also inside the sky.
The Sky Reports desk said Mike is expected to continue covering the sky after he determines whether being inside something prevents a person from accurately saying it is blue.
As always, keep flying, my little skyheads.
