Mike reported Tuesday that a cloud may be following the plane, though he emphasized that the cloud could also be traveling in the same general direction for reasons unrelated to the aircraft.
The observation began after Mike noticed a white formation outside the left window remained in the report longer than expected. According to his notes, the cloud did not approach, retreat, signal, or otherwise behave aggressively, but it also did not leave in a way that would have simplified the filing.
"It is still there," Mike said. "That does not prove intent. It does prove there is a cloud I have seen more than once."

Mike said the situation is difficult to classify because the aircraft is moving, the air is moving, the cloud may be moving, and the ground remains too far below to provide an independent witness.
"From down there, maybe it looks like we are following the cloud," Mike said. "That is why I try not to let the ground set the angle."
