The visible aircraft component has become an important reference point for distinguishing the sky from more sky.
Mike Confirms Wing Strut Remains In Same General Place
Mike reported that the wing strut remained near its expected visual position, allowing the sky report to retain continuity.

Mike confirmed Monday that the wing strut visible from the cockpit remains in the same general place, giving the Sky Reports desk a stable reference object as the surrounding sky continues presenting near-identical information.
"The strut is still there," Mike said. "That helps, because otherwise the report would be sky against sky, and then we are mostly asking the blue to police itself."
The confirmation followed a routine visual check in which Mike compared the strut to a cloud, then compared the same strut to a slightly different cloud, then wrote down that the strut had maintained a helpful level of involvement.
Continuity Role
Editors said the wing strut is not the subject of the report, but has become "an important supporting witness" because it is closer than the ground and less evasive than the clouds.
"A cloud can leave the frame," Mike said. "The strut usually has paperwork keeping it here."
Strut status Present, cooperative, bolted in place.
Sky status Similar on both sides of the strut.
Ground status Too low to help the strut explain itself.
Mike cautioned readers not to overinterpret the finding. The strut's continued presence does not mean the sky has changed, only that there is now a fixed nearby object against which the sky can continue not changing.
Reference Footage
The desk prepared a strut continuity archive for readers who requested proof that the same piece of aircraft remained available across the observation window.

The following frames document the strut's continuing relationship with the sky. Readers should note that aircraft parts may appear more dependable than weather.
Mike said the strut will remain under observation for the duration of the flight or until it does something that requires maintenance rather than journalism.
As always, keep flying, my little skyheads.
