Warner Bros. says action and adventure; Chud says slow down and define super.

Supergirl is a movie about somebody getting called super before Chud sees the inspection.
I am not saying she is not super. Maybe she is very super. I am saying the movie starts the word already attached, and that is how confusion gets in through the cape.
Warner Bros. says Supergirl is in theaters June 26 and lists it as action slash adventure. That is already two jobs. Action is one department. Adventure is another department with worse shoes. Now add super on top and everybody is running around like the prefix paid rent.
Nobody asks the first question. Was there Regulargirl. Was there Pretty Good Girl. Was there Girl With Promise But Needs Better Filing. You cannot just skip to super because the cape has confidence.
The movie looks big and colorful and the flying seems expensive. Fine. Chud enjoys when people fly because walking is slow and ankles are suspicious. But flight is not proof of paperwork. A leaf can fly for a second if a truck goes by. Nobody calls it Superleaf unless something has gone wrong at the leaf office.
Also the costume has a cape, and capes make people assume leadership. This is old movie trick. Put cloth behind a person and suddenly everyone says destiny. Put cloth behind Chud and they say sir please leave the buffet alone. Double standard, probably legal.
I kept waiting for one person to say, hey, before the action and adventure, can we see who approved super. Not to be mean. For safety. If someone is super without approval, regular people may try to stand near explosions incorrectly.
There is also the girl part, which Chud is not touching with dirty hands. That is her business. But the super part is a public word. Once you put super on a theater poster, kids see it, dads nod, and somebody in a parking lot tries to lift a cooler with their back.
The villain, if there is one, is probably bad. But the deeper villain is fast promotion. Movies love it. One minute a person is normal, next minute everybody is yelling believe in yourself while a building falls down. Where was the probation period. Where was the cape orientation. Did she get a badge. Does space have HR or just comets.
I did like the color blue. Blue is a serious color pretending to be friendly. Red is also there doing alarm work. Together they say superhero. They also say slush flavor if you are honest.
My advice is easy. Keep Supergirl. I am not trying to demote anybody during a weekend release. Just show the form, or at least have one old man in a hallway whisper that the super part cleared committee.
Chud's rating: probably super, but I need to see where the word came from.
